The Fearless Fever – Support Fevers!

The Fearless Fever – Support Fevers!

Childhood Fever Support: Video Overview

In this discussion of childhood fever support, Amandha Vollmer (ADV) addresses concerns she was receiving from parents about fever in children. She introduces her understanding of fever as a physiological response, then discusses the hypothalamus, pyrogens, temperature regulation and the immune processes she associates with the fever response. This recording was Amandha’s first YouTube video and is framed around helping parents feel more informed when observing a child with a fever.

Amandha also discusses nutrition, hydration, iron metabolism, nighttime changes in temperature and signs she considers more concerning than the temperature reading alone, including a stiff neck, prolonged vomiting and persistent pain. She presents a “support rather than suppress” approach and discusses vitamin C, zinc, fish oils, probiotics and the homeopathic remedy Ferrum phosphoricum.

The final portion focuses on febrile seizures and Amandha’s perspectives on vaccination, childhood immune development and health freedom. Several medical claims in these sections reflect Amandha’s interpretation and are not established pediatric guidance.

Important Context & Safety

Educational context: This video presents Amandha Vollmer’s perspectives and personal experience involving childhood fever, immune responses, vaccination, nutrition, homeopathy and febrile seizures. Some statements in the recording, including claims that vaccination causes hypothalamic damage and “runaway” fevers or that febrile seizures may provide cognitive benefits, are not established clinical conclusions. The recording also recommends Ferrum phosphoricum; current evidence reviews find little evidence that homeopathy is effective for any specific health condition.

Current pediatric guidance emphasizes the child’s age, hydration, responsiveness, breathing and accompanying symptoms rather than relying on the temperature number alone. A baby younger than 3 months with a temperature of 38°C (100.4°F) or higher requires prompt medical assessment.

Most simple febrile seizures are brief and do not cause long-term neurological harm, but a seizure lasting longer than five minutes is a medical emergency. A stiff neck, repeated vomiting, severe breathing difficulty, unusual sleepiness or poor responsiveness, dehydration, a concerning rash, persistent severe pain or a child who appears very ill should receive appropriate medical assessment.

Medical emergencies: Information in this video should not be used to delay emergency assessment or treatment for symptoms of stroke, heart attack, serious head injury or another medical emergency.

Introduction: Why Amandha Addresses Childhood Fever

Amandha: Hello, my name’s Amandha Vollmer and I am a holistic practitioner. I have eight years post-secondary education, including my naturopathic training, four years, and I want to address a topic today, which is fever in children. I have many people who contact me asking about fever, worried about fever in the children, and we’re in cold and flu season.

Amandha: So I do want to address this topic because of the amount of questions that I’m getting about it. This is my first YouTube video ever. So be nice. I’m a mother as well. I have a three year old. And she’s had many nice hot fevers. My child is naturally raised, so I’ve seen a difference between naturally raised children and, I guess, synthetically raised children, let’s just say.

Amandha: Meaning vaccinated, you know, medicated, intervened-with children. Sometimes a fever mechanism is a little bit different and we’ll talk about that. So let’s get right to it. I want to help people feel empowered. That’s why I think I’m on this planet. As an educator and healer, most of my work stems around helping people understand truth and the mystery around a lot of things that we see on this planet that don’t seem to make a lot of sense.

Amandha: I feel that I inspire empowerment and the idea of freedom, and it goes through health freedom to law, freedom is quite a range. But to know enough to empower yourself around health is a very amazing thing to witness. And I feel blessed that I’ve been able to help many people, too. So I’m gonna start doing a series of videos on topics where I feel guided, and this is one of them.

How Fever and the Hypothalamus Work

Amandha: So let’s get down to business. Let’s talk about fever and what it’s about. So we’ve probably been told that fever is a good thing by many people, and that’s completely true. A fever around 100 to 101 degrees is good for children, but we’re going to focus on children here. And a fever of 107.6 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 42 degrees Celsius for a prolonged period of time is dangerous.

Amandha: And it’s dangerous because of inflammation to the brain, but that may occur in about 4% of children. It’s very rare. And even if a child gets a febrile seizure, which is caused by the fever spiking too quickly, that even doesn’t have negative sequelae. So to be afraid of it unnecessarily is not really warranted.

Amandha: And I want to help you alleviate some of your fears around it.

Amandha: So the hypothalamus sits at the base of the brain and it’s the body’s thermostat., it’s a gland and it’s triggered by floating biochemical substances called pyrogens. Now, they flow from sites where the immune system has identified potential trouble in the bloodstream.

Amandha: Usually the body tissue will create the pyrogens. Sometimes pathogens will create them, and then the hypothalamus detects that and it tells a body to retain heat, and that’s producing a fever. Okay. So usually in children, the fever will go higher and will go quicker because it’s reflecting the effect of pyrogens upon an inexperienced immune system.

Amandha: Childhood is a time for the immune system to learn, so it’s okay for children to get these illnesses. Usually, it’s a training ground for later health. So when we take away those experiences by vaccinating and messing with the immune system in that way, in an unnatural way, we’re sort of removing later health from our child’s experience.

Amandha: So, so there’s ways to do this naturally and smart and safe for everybody. So, so that’s how now in a vaccinated child, the hypothalamus can become damaged. Usually by the inflammation that is caused. There are often excitotoxins put into vaccines such as glutamate and that can cause brain inflammation.

Amandha: Now some people will recover from that, but some children won’t. And in the ones who don’t, if on autopsy the hypothalamus is opened, there are holes, like Swiss-cheese holes, inside the hypothalamus showing damage, and that prevents normal function. So form and function are interwoven and you’ll get damage in the hypothalamus.

Amandha: So when we have a damaged hypothalamus, this is when we can get runaway fevers. And so it’s like one intervention begets another intervention. So I wanted to address that. In an unvaccinated child with a healthy hypothalamus, you will see a nice hot fever. A couple of days maximum, things progress in a nice orderly fashion, and then they’ve recovered and their immune systems have learned from the event.

Amandha: And then the next time and the next time, it just gets that much better in vaccinated children. Sometimes even post-vaccination syndromes occur where the fevers just don’t go away. So if you see that, then you need to try to address the inflammation to prevent hypothalamic damage because the fever mechanism is being damaged and unable to come back down.

Fever, Immune Response, Nutrition, and Terrain

Amandha: So there are two different ways of looking at this. So, so now we understand a little bit about the hypothalamus. Now let’s look at it. A fever stimulates the immune system to produce more white blood cells to produce more antibodies and the protein called interferon. And all those things work to protect your body against these microorganisms that have come in to do some harm.

Amandha: Now they’ve only come in to do harm, and they’re only going to do harm if the terrain of the body is an inhospitable environment for them. If the terrain is in a healthy environment, nothing can infect. So it’s important also to understand about health of the body.

Amandha: So natural foods, preferably organic. GMOs cause a lot of inflammation, specifically gut inflammation, which can create leaky gut, which can create food allergies and sensitivities and other problems.

Amandha: So, you know, all of those things need to be making sure there’s enough minerals and vitamins, not only from food, but there’s so much toxicity now in our world that usually supplementation is a requirement. And just getting out into nature, getting enough sunlight, you know, all of these health fulfilling things that need to happen for really a wellbeing that’s rounded.

Amandha: So now we’ve got this microorganism that somehow comes in. In the child, it needs to really come in to do the training. And by raising the body a few degrees, it just makes it that much harder for the invading bacteria and viruses to survive and flourish. So the higher the core temperature is, the harder it is for microorganisms to survive in the body.

Amandha: Okay, fever also does something interesting to iron stores. Iron can be stored in the liver, and when a fever is there, it will shuttle the iron to the liver because it’s fuel for bacteria. Invading bacteria feed on our iron, so a fever will help shuttle that iron away from them.

Amandha: So it’s sort of taking food away from the invading pathogens.

Amandha: It’s a very smart mechanism, fever. So let’s try to have a positive idea about fever, and that’s a good thing to get. Now the other thing to understand about fever is that it’s diurnal. There’s a diurnal variation. So usually at night, the fever will go higher than in the day.

Amandha: Because we all have diurnal rhythms in our day.

Amandha: So, when you’re taking temperatures, you must consider that, oh, the fever’s gone up. Well the fever will go up in the night cause that’s the diurnal rhythm. Remember to treat the child and not the thermometer itself. Right? Okay. So, we understand now a little bit about the mechanism.

Amandha: We understand a little bit about what causes fever and why vaccines can be a problem

Monitoring a Child: Hydration, Red Flags, and Support

Amandha: for this mechanism and for the training ground of the immune system, which is vital in childhood. So if your child has a fever, then make sure they’re eating and drinking. Hydration is important. Make sure they don’t have anything that’s really alarming, like a stiff neck, prolonged vomiting, or relentless pain.

Amandha: You know, those are the things that are concerning and that really need our attention. Not to say that fever doesn’t need attention, but on the level in which we respond to Fever it’s heightened compared to some of these other things that are more worrisome. So we’re going to look at support and not suppress.

Amandha: So Tylenol and these types of drugs suppress the mechanism, which we do not want, also causing secondary liver damage. And your liver’s already working to take the iron stores and deal with inflammation. So we don’t want to burden the liver even more by giving a drug that’s suppressive.

Amandha: We want to assist and support the fever.

Ferrum Phosphoricum, Fever Medicines, and Febrile Seizures

Amandha: One thing I love using, which is, other than, you know, your vitamin C and zinc, your fish oils, your probiotics as a staple for the immune system health. I love using Ferrum phosphoricum. This is a 200CH. I would suggest 30CH is your nice, comfortable number. You can give it once maximum twice in the evening.

Amandha: You want to sleep, you want to make sure the fever is in a nice comfort zone. You can give that easily to the child. It’s safe, it works very effectively. There’s no side effects, there’s no interference with anything else and it seems to support fever and inflammation quite nicely and help it just work its way through and give it just that little bit of extra energy that it needs to do its job.

Amandha: It doesn’t get in its way like a Tylenol would do. Obviously you avoid things like aspirin cause it can cause a Reye syndrome. So, you know, you don’t want to, it’s actually dangerous. Those things are, to me, and for my research, those things are far more dangerous than the fever itself.

Amandha: So I do suggest a homeopathic approach and also nutritional of course.

Amandha: So seizures I want to just talk about quickly. Febrile seizures. A febrile seizure happens when temperature rises too quickly, so when the temperature is run away.

Amandha: Did you know that febrile seizures are actually associated with genius creation in children?

Amandha: So it actually can somehow give a benefit to have a febrile seizure, as frightening as it would be to witness a seizure.

Amandha: Ultimately there’s nothing to fear with it.

Amandha: If a child already has epileptic-style seizures or some serious chronic illness, then that’s when you have to really walk through these things a little bit closer. But in the 4% of children that would have a febrile seizure, the sequelae are

Amandha: not anything to really be concerned about. So again, let’s let’s look at the worst fear possible, which would be that, and that even isn’t that scary. So let’s just take the tone of the fear right down a few notches. So if there’s any questions that you have about fever in children you know, by all means, please comment or message me.

Vaccination Perspectives, Health Freedom, and Closing Remarks

Amandha: I just want to make a little addendum. I am really wanting to come from heart centered approach here and accepting everyone for wherever they’re at. So if you choose to vaccinate, then you know that’s your choice, and I trust that you’ve done all your research and looked at everything. I did all my research.

Amandha: In fact, I’ve done 15 years of vaccine research from my scientifically trained brain and my training, I would never inject anyone with a vaccine. I don’t think it’s sound science. I don’t think the theory holds water. And you know, that’s from my educated background and my research and information, I think that other interventions, I think any intervention medically begets another.

Amandha: And I didn’t want that as a single parent. I didn’t want that for my child and myself there’s already enough challenges to do things with one parent. So I didn’t need, you know, ear infections and throat infections or tonsillitis and brain inflammation and secondary problems and rashes, and which we never had.

Amandha: So those are decisions that we have under our own rights. We have health freedom. nobody is doing any harm by not vaccinating, which is a lot of propaganda and myths. So I just, I don’t really want to invite a debate here. I just, I want to open up my heart to say that everyone has their choices and that I really wish for everyone to just do their research.

Amandha: And I have lots of research that I’ve saved. And I will be publishing and I will be going forward with videos on. So, later we’ll discuss it more. But because I touched on it here, I just wanted to give that little addendum on the topic. Okay. Well, I think that’s it for now. Thank you for listening.

Amandha: This is my first video, so, hopefully it’s all right. Sorry about the quality. My little webcam isn’t the best.

Amandha: And if you would like to visit my website I do sell some supplements. I support children in any way natural I possibly can. Cause it’s part of my passion. It’s yummy mummy emporium.org is my website, and feel free to visit and contact me if you wish.

Amandha: And I do see clients even at a distance, so if you feel a calling to work with me, then I’m open to that as well.

Amandha: Have a beautiful day and thank you again.
