Fasting and Liver Detoxification: A Short Video by Amandha Vollmer (ADV)
This is Amandha’s primer on the importance of maintaining a healthy liver through the act of regular cleansing and rest. Cleansing can take many forms and we need to realize that the act of cleaning the liver will discharge many toxins from our bodies. Everything that we sweat through our skin when we exercise is helping our liver to heal when we actively detoxify it. Remember that the liver is the gatekeeper of our bodies, it is the organ that determines where everything we ingest goes. This includes the harmful substances as well as the beneficial ones. If you suffer from common conditions like Diabetes, Metabolic problems, Hormonal problems and even Thyroid issues the very first step is to cleanse the liver.
Our livers are so polluted from the regular assault of pesticides and pharmaceuticals that we need to be conscious of the things that prevent our liver from performing its function and be diligent about taking care of it.
We need to be aware that our bodies also need rest. This is not the kind of rest that you get from sleeping, this is the kind of rest where your internal organs, like your liver, get a day off. We need to regularly fast in the same way that we regularly sleep. Take a day, drink only water and lots of it, your liver will thank you. When you do this regularly you improve the health of all your organs.
