DMSO for Wounds and Scars
DMSO for Wounds and Scars
DMSO for Wounds and Scars: Video Overview
In this DMSO for wounds and scars video, Amandha Vollmer (ADV) focuses on a practical question: how does she work with DMSO when the skin is trying to repair after injury or when old scar tissue remains? She begins with her experience and customer testimonials, then explains how she thinks about DMSO’s transdermal properties when combining it with nutrients and topical skin-care formulations.
Rather than approaching every wound or scar in the same way, ADV walks through how she adjusts the topical application according to what she is seeing in the skin. She discusses DMSO with Added Nutrients, moisturizing, Cleopatra’s Secret, Dandelion Supreme Body Bliss, Nature’s Skin and DMSO with Colloidal Silver, while also sharing her perspective on the skin microbiome and irritation.
The video closes with an important practical distinction: ADV says DMSO should not be placed on a wound that is still actively bleeding. Once bleeding has stopped, she discusses how she works with older scar tissue using castor oil packs, DMSO and topical creams such as Face Lift in a Jar. The teaching stays focused on how she approaches the tissue in front of her rather than simply applying one product to every situation.

Introduction: DMSO for Wounds and Scars
Amandha: Hey everyone, long time no talk. I want to do a brief video just to remind you about some of the important traits of dimethyl sulfoxide, DMSO. A lot of people – well, first of all, a lot of people don’t even know about DMSO. So many people haven’t heard of it, or they haven’t heard of it until I’ve mentioned it.
Amandha: Then I’m in education mode. I have some pamphlets here that I hand out in my store to help educate people about DMSO. Of course, I’m writing a book about it as well, which is going to go into more uses for DMSO. One of the things I want to share with you to keep top of mind is that DMSO helps with healing wounds and scar tissue.
Amandha: It can completely erase scars. I’ve had a lot of testimonials coming back informing me that their scars have disappeared, and they’re pleasantly surprised because they weren’t using the products I formulate with DMSO particularly for that action. They were using it maybe for topical pain or skin care in general, for wrinkles and so forth, but they weren’t actually using it to get rid of a scar.
Amandha: So keep that in mind when you’re dealing with a wound, something that’s slow to heal, or any kind of stubborn scar tissue. If you’ve had many babies, you can have scar tissue – the ‘tiger stripes,’ as they call them, and stretch marks. As well, if you’ve recently lost weight and have damage to the skin, then consider it.
DMSO with Added Nutrients and Skin Delivery
Amandha: The way I usually suggest approaching this is first to use a product that’s about 80% DMSO, and really use the benefit of the fact that DMSO helps carry other nutrients with it. Being that DMSO is transdermal, it will open the skin barrier and drive things deep. If you’re putting it with other nutrients, you’re going to get even more of that delivery. If you can get delivery to tissues, you’ve really got it.
Amandha: I’ve got a few products I want to show you. This product here – I know it’s going to be backwards – is called DMSO with Added Nutrients. You can find it on my website, which is Yummy Mummy Emporium. This formulation is an 80% DMSO with one to three percent of different important essential nutrients, and I’ve diluted it with aloe so that it won’t itch too much, tingle too much, or bother the skin as pure DMSO can.
Amandha: I’ve added iodine. Iodine goes a long way with healing the skin. Vitamin C also heals skin. Magnesium heals just about everything. Magnesium is a catalyst; it catalyzes or moves along responses and chemical reactions in the body. You have to have it to detox through the liver, and you have to have it to accelerate processes.
Amandha: I also put MSM sulfur in it, which is derived from DMSO. MSM sulfur is also for skin healing and repair of tissues and is a little more specific than even pure DMSO. Having the two together is very potent. Actually, using the two together is also a cancer remedy. Unfortunately, the publishers of my book do not want all my cancer protocols with DMSO in that book, so I’m going to remove them and make another book completely about DMSO and cancer, because there’s enough for that.
Amandha: I also put B complex in here because all the B vitamins are going to assist the repair of the skin. So that’s my DMSO with Added Nutrients. I have two sizes, 30 mL and 50 mL.
Amandha: Really, what you do is, if you have a blemish – like I’m working on a blemish here right now – cleanse the skin and apply the solution to the area plus a little bit more. You don’t just touch it on; you want to get a little more skin surface involved because you want to absorb enough of it to really get the job done.
Moisturizing and DMSO Skin-Care Formulations
Amandha: Then what I like to do is use a few different skin creams depending on what I’m after. Right now I’m using my Cleopatra’s Secret. I’ll get that. It’s over here. Cleopatra’s Secret is a beauty balm. It’s not vegan, sorry. It’s all bee products: honey, bee propolis, beeswax, and bee pollen.
Amandha: I don’t use royal jelly. I think royal jelly is cruel. But all of those products, with really quite fancy and specific essential oils, go a long way to heal skin tissue. Once you’ve put the DMSO on, this goes nicely over top to accelerate healing, especially if the wound is stubborn and has some deep work to do.
Amandha: What I notice when I use it is that the next morning it will be crusted over quite quickly, so it’s moving through the healing phases quite quickly. Things that are stubborn, that are sitting there and aren’t resolving fast, are frustrating. You’re like, ‘Oh, this is still sitting. When is this going to heal?’
Amandha: Ideally, you really want to increase your nutrition. You want to eat as well-balanced as possible because the more you can do that, the more you’re going to turn over skin and heal. Aside from that, you can accelerate it, as I’m saying, with DMSO and moisturizing.
Amandha: Moisturizing is always a wise idea because you don’t want too much drying out. You do want a scab to form so that the skin underneath can heal, but you don’t want it extremely dry. That’s why I like that particular product.
Amandha: I also make Dandelion Supreme Body Bliss lotion. It also has dimethyl sulfoxide in it. It can be used head to toe. It’s dandelion-based. It’s actually a liver-healer lotion, so you’re healing your liver through your skin, which is amazing, because expression through the skin is your liver. The two go hand in hand.
Amandha: We have dandelion root, nettle leaf, burdock root, ginger root, Oregon grape root, yellow dock, peony root, [unclear] root, milk thistle leaf, and wild yam. Those are the main botanicals in this beautiful lotion. I’ve added neroli flower distillate. There’s cocoa butter, all the creamy, buttery, yummy things, and shea butter as well, plus some essential oils.
Amandha: This is a very popular lotion. You can use it on your face, and you can use it in lieu of Cleopatra’s Secret. It’s a lighter layer. If you don’t want that much thickness in your oils, you can use this one. It’s also nice when you come out of the shower; you can do head to toe.
Amandha: Same with my Nature’s Skin. Nature’s Skin – sorry, it’s not focusing – is a chickweed-calendula mix, and that is for eczema skin. That is, again, the liver damage. It’s pushing out toxins through the skin.
Amandha: You want to alleviate that by helping it extract rather than suppressing it, as with cortisone and other petroleum products and things you can find or your doctor prescribes. Those are suppressive and will make the liver worse in the long run.
Amandha: What you want to do is alleviate the liver by helping the skin express. You just don’t want the toxin sitting on the skin causing damage. That’s why the lotion alleviates the skin irritation with calendula, as the chickweed helps pull the toxins out. I do have instructions on here to wash it off afterward for extreme eczema, but for the most part, my feedback from customers is that they leave it on and do not find anything irritating at that point. Everything just heals up quite nicely.
DMSO with Colloidal Silver, Microbiome, and Infection Discussion
Amandha: The other DMSO product you can use for wounds is DMSO with Colloidal Silver. This is a 50% DMSO with colloidal silver, and that in particular will accelerate things that are looking infected or angry, and also anything even quite severe, like cellulitis.
Amandha: Things where, you know, the antibiotic topical should be avoided. Antibiotics in general should be avoided. I know everyone has been brainwashed into thinking they’re miracle drugs when they’re really not. They’re really poison and destroy your microbiome, which is what is healing you.
Amandha: So take a probiotic, take more bacteria, and do not obliterate your whole microbiome and then chase the bacteria off to run and hide until the coast is clear. What ends up happening is it comes back again with a vengeance, and then you go on the antibiotics again. You seem like you’re good, but you’re not. They come back again and so on until you get yeast infections, runaway problems that the antibiotics will no longer solve, MRSA, resistant issues, and it can re-emerge in different places. So you think you’re getting something new, but really it’s the same organism just expressing itself in a different area.
Amandha: Same thing with topical antibiotics like Polysporin. I never recommend that. You have a microbiome on your skin as well that you don’t want to damage. You want to make sure you’re not doing something so harsh that’s going to kill everything. It’s really about encouraging your own body and your own microorganisms to come to the rescue. That’s really the more successful way of getting the job done.
Amandha: If you repair the skin fast, as well, you won’t attract microbes because microbes will only be attracted to dead, dying, and damaged tissue. If you accelerate the repair using dimethyl sulfoxide, you will by very nature reduce the bacterial load of anything coming from the external environment.
Amandha: As far as using things like colloidal silver, it’s bacteriostatic. DMSO is bacteriostatic, so it doesn’t really maim; it just stops reproduction. That is, again, not selecting for the strong bacterial types to then grow, proliferate, and share their genetic information with the next generation. They learn what you’ve been doing and figure it out, and then it doesn’t work the next time. These things don’t cause that, and that’s why they last and last, as opposed to antibiotics, which, you know, half of them can’t even be used anymore. The other half maim and kill, and the rest of them just cause problems in the long run, where you get issues again and again.
Amandha: It’s tough sometimes to deal with infections. I am going to do a video talking about what I’ve seen lately, which is a lot of jaw infections, jaw necrosis leading into clogged ears and issues with the sinus. A lot of people aren’t making the connection that it’s from the jaw and dental issues. I have done one video on that before, on dental cavitations. You can find it on my YouTube channel, Yummy Mummy Emporium and Apothecary. I also have a mirror YouTube channel that I will eventually post all my videos on, which is Dr. Yummy.
Amandha: That video talks about jaw necrosis. I’m pretty sure I mentioned DMSO in that video. It’s very common, and definitely MDs are absolutely clueless about it. Most dentists as well, they have zero idea about it. So I’ll talk about a few of those cases. I’m also going to be doing a video on the prostate because that’s come up again, as gentlemen are having prostate cancer or problems with their prostate. So lots coming down the pike. Don’t mix your metaphors already.
Amandha: I just wanted to do this briefly because there’s a lot to know about dimethyl sulfoxide, and one at a time, right?
Active Bleeding, Castor Oil Packs, and Scar Tissue
Amandha: So let’s just learn this: you can heal wounds with it. You can repair things quickly. The only stipulation is that you do not put it on something that’s actively bleeding. You wait until the clotting mechanism has taken care of it and it has stopped. Then you can start to use the DMSO. The reason is that DMSO increases blood flow, so you really don’t want increased blood flow when you’re trying to stop bleeding. It doesn’t make sense.
Amandha: Just wait until everything’s coagulated and healed over, and then it becomes an accelerant in the healing of the wound itself. And again, old scar tissue as well.
Amandha: I do suggest doing castor oil packs. You can find hexane-free castor oil on my website. Again, my website is Yummy Mummy Emporium. I have really good castor oil. You can do castor oil packs over the scar with heat, and then add the DMSO afterward, and really accelerate the healing. Then you can work with one of my creams that has further DMSO in it.
Face Lift in a Jar and Closing Remarks
Amandha: Another very popular one – people tell me all the time that they used it and they’re so surprised that the scar peeled, and they weren’t expecting that – is my Face Lift in a Jar. The Face Lift in a Jar has about 20 to 25% DMSO, and it will deliver that with the oils into the skin to tighten and tonify skin tissue so it doesn’t sag as much.
Amandha: That’s what that one is used for. But, secondarily, a side effect is that it tends to heal wounds and wrinkles and all these kinds of issues and damage to the skin.
Amandha: All right, well, that’s all I wanted to say for today. I will be investing in some new technology, like cameras and stuff, because it’s getting ridiculous. I really need a good setup and mics and all this. It’s just overwhelming. There are so many things I do and make. So anyway, there that is. Have a great day, and we’ll talk to you again soon. Bye for now.
