David James Rodriguez is a passionate advocate for people, freedom, peace, and fun, among other things.
He is the brain behind the GATTO Project, an initiative designed to “Get All The Thinkers Out” of compulsory schooling, enabling them to discover their passions and the joy of learning.
Additionally, Rodriguez founded both the Education Options Expo and Education Options TV. Through these platforms, he has introduced thousands of parents to respectful educational environments and innovative learning approaches, interviewing global leaders who are shaping the future of education today.
As the Founding Principal of Valor Academy, a private school that encourages students to follow their interests and passions through an apprenticeship model, Rodriguez plays a pivotal role in redefining education. He also serves as a homeschool coach, assisting parents in the transition from public to homeschooling.
Rodriguez is the author of the forthcoming book, “The Apprenticeship: How to Get a Real Education and Solve the Crisis of Public Schooling Using an Affordable, Proven Method.”
He also published “The Underground History of American Education: Volume 1” by the esteemed educator John Taylor Gatto, with two more volumes in the pipeline.
Having sold his business at the age of 26, Rodriguez relocated to South Korea to teach English at a high-performance high school. His diverse business experience spans the insurance, biotechnology, and dentistry sectors.
Born and raised in California, where he attended public schools, Rodriguez earned a business degree from San Jose State University.
