Urinary Tract Infections in Children – How to Allow this Rite of Passage Safely
Urinary Tract Infections in Children – How to Allow this Rite of Passage Safely
Urinary Tract Infections in Children: Video Overview
In this discussion of urinary tract infections in children, Amandha Vollmer (ADV) presents her personal and holistic interpretation of a child’s first UTI. She describes symptoms she has observed, including strong-smelling or cloudy urine, burning with urination, lower abdominal or back discomfort and fever, and explains why she frames the first UTI as a “rite of passage” within her broader view of immune learning. She also shares experiences involving her daughter and other families she has supported.
Amandha then walks through the home-care approaches she discusses, including hydration, fever monitoring, D-mannose, vitamin C, zinc, probiotics, homeopathy, colloidal silver, botanicals, topical magnesium, essential oils and DMSO. She also discusses toilet training, wiping direction, hygiene, antibiotic resistance and her concerns about repeated antibiotic use. These therapeutic claims and protocol suggestions remain Amandha’s perspectives and experiences from the recording.
The final portion distinguishes childhood UTIs from adult cases and addresses diet, kidney stones, recurrence and parent stress. Amandha also identifies warning signs she believes warrant immediate attention, including stiff neck, marked loss of vitality, inability to walk or move, sallow-looking skin, severe pain or high-pitched screaming.

Introduction: Childhood UTIs and the “Rite of Passage” Framework
Amandha: To another little chat I would like to have today. And it’s coming along the tales of what I was talking about yesterday. My last video was talking about how getting sick can save your life. Now if you want to look at that video, it’s on YouTube and you can subscribe to my channel and you can get more of these videos that I’m doing as I start them as live Facebook chats, and then I flip them to YouTube.
Amandha: So that’s what works for me right now. If you are interested in knowing more about my background and training, you can look to my website, which is yummy mummy emporium.org, and you can click on Health and it’ll talk to you about my background and where I come from and what I’ve learned. And I am very aware of patterns and one pattern that’s been coming up.
Amandha: In last little while, and also something that I personally dealt with with my own child was on the topic of urinary tract infections. And so what I was talking about yesterday was that when we are going through natural immune system experiences like colds and flus chickenpox, measles, mum any of the childhood exanthems that happen that are normal and regular, like, we have you know, anything with a fever, anything that’s triggering the body to remember what’s going on in its environment.
Amandha: Like roseola infantum for example, that’s one that comes around six months. So when this naturally is happening in the immune system is becoming trained it’s like a rite of passage because once that happens your memory cells now have that imprint and they’re trained to know what to do when anything comes again, oftentimes you don’t even need to have a full-blown expression of the symptoms.
Amandha: You may not even know that maybe you’re having a low level of something. But there’s a very specific system, it’s a very closed off system. Internally speaking, the UTI, the tract, right? So this system also needs to be primed and needs to learn. And so when there’s a child between ages of, you know, usually typically three to five happens more so in girls it does happen in boys.
Amandha: They will get an E. coli infection or an introduction. I don’t even, I think the word infection is appropriate. It’s an introduction to E. coli. Welcome to the close, proximity to your anus,, where poop comes out. And if you don’t wipe properly, can get in the wrong hole,. And so the introduction of E. coli.
Amandha: happens and the body responds to that. And so what typically happens in, you know, this medical cult model that we are brainwashed to follow is you are worried because your child is having urine that has a mal odorous expression, maybe cloudy, maybe some mucus. Is complaining that it burns or hurts when they urinate.
Amandha: Might be having lower abdominal pain. They might even be having lower back pain. So they’re not feeling well. They’re starting to get a fever in some, in many cases. And you run to the doctor and what is the doctor going to give you Is antibiotics, the golden child of modern medicine.
Amandha: You know, and so what’s happening is we’re getting drugs.
Amandha: So the child gets drugged and what the antibiotics do is destroys the entire flora of the body that you have just worked very hard at as a parent raising your child to establish. And that’s now white clean. And that is a functional part, an active part of the immune system, which again, I find Absurd to the beyond nth level of absurdity that we would obliterate the immune system when we’re trying to heal the body of a infection, which requires a healthy immune system, you see?
Amandha: So that is typically given what I see in these children who have been meddled with by the medical mafia. They’ve been vaccinated, they’ve been c-sections, they’ve been pricked with all kinds of skin heal prick tests and so forth. They already are coming outta the gate challenged.
Amandha: They’re all immune systems are already in a terrible state. So that’s a little bit of an extra challenge when the first UTI comes. Which is a rite of passage for children. And if they’re medicated on top of that what typically I’m seeing in these types of children are repeat UTIs. So they will go on the antibiotic if it’s one that’s not E. coli resistant as I just had with a a mother.
Amandha: I’ve been walking through this process. And she avoided, I helped her, I handheld her to help her avoid the antibiotics so that she could allow her child to go through this experience so that she has immunity for life and that she will not get repeat UTIs and then secondary problems like candida infections for the rest of her most of her life.
Amandha: So, but they will give the antibiotics it seems to go away. for a little while. But then of course, because the antibiotics only kill the weaker strains or the weaker organisms of the E. coli groupings, the stronger survive. They hide. When the coast is clear, they come out to Reinfect. And what happens then is now you have reproduced E. coli strong strains, and those antibiotics definitely don’t take those out and they have to try another antibiotic or maybe another one, or maybe it’s getting dangerous because they can’t get it under control.
Amandha: Now with natural remedies, after a few times of this, and that child could end up in a, in the hospital case, this is, that is to me, irresponsible and dangerous. Okay, so Hi. Hi everybody. I love you too,. So, okay, so here we are. So now. Let’s talk about how we can allow our children to experience illness in a supported, brilliantly smart helpful manner so that they don’t get UTIs again, and they don’t get candida infections for the rest of their remaining days on earth.
Amandha: Let’s prevent things from getting worse by allowing them to. This rite of passage, which is the first UTI in my child. This happened at age four. This is the typical age you’ll see. The, it could be three, could be five, and it can be younger as well. And it’s harder to spot sometimes because they’re not speaking, they’re not able to tell you their symptoms.
Amandha: UTIs can start in the urinary tract. Things go up the urinary tract from the outside environment, and they can migrate to the kidneys as well. And in the first round of this, the kidneys also are involved they’re involved they’re, it’s an intimate system. Okay. They, everything interacts.
Amandha: The liver’s involved as well. So in this is how it typically happens, and I’ll tell you the story of my child as well, and a few other parents that I’ve walked through this process now. So I’m speaking from experience, I’m speaking from personal experience and also experience of other parents that have done this.
Amandha: Okay.
Amandha: So what happens is a fever begins the, if you’re feeling like you don’t want to do antibiotics and you’ve researched enough and you know the dangers of antibiotics and you know that the body is brilliant and that it knows what it’s doing and that it’s a self-limiting illness and it will resolve and you want to help your child through it I will take you through what has worked in my experience.
Fever, Hydration, Monitoring, and Supporting the Child
Amandha: Someone had a question there about opinions about huge water intake in UTIs. What’s your view? Definitely you need to hydrate the body. That is key because what happens in a UTI is generally fever because fever is good.
Amandha: Fever is good.
Amandha: If you are a parent, I want you to take out a nice marker and a piece of paper and write that down and plaster it onto your fridge and read it to yourself every day fever is good.
Amandha: Fever is what’s getting rid of the E. coli. In the UTI. Fever is mobilizing the white blood cells. It is breaking down the proteins of the E. coli. It is helping the body have blood flow to the area. It is increasing the heart rate and the breathing rate to move toxins out of the body.
Amandha: It is your friend. It is what’s doing the. Okay, so what you want to do is you want to support the fever. Fever also increases the risk of dehydration. Your main risk for fever would be dehydration. So that’s why that and the UTI that will flood, you know, is it’s about the waters of the body.
Amandha: The urinary tract system controls the waters of the body.
Amandha: So water and the type of water is important. When you’re flushing, you are flushing the kidneys and you are flushing that system. You do want to increase and make sure you have enough water going on. Tons and tons of it. I mean, I really just go with the child or the individual because everything’s individualized in medicine, in, in holistic medicine.
Amandha: So you look at the case by case and the parent knows the child best, not the doctor. Not the doctor does. The doctor is the doctor with your child every single day, night and day, and seeing how vital that child is and seeing how they get through illnesses. They don’t know anything about your child.
Amandha: You know your child, so you listen to your child. You give them you never, yeah, you never give antipyretics. You never lower that fever. What you’ll do is you’ll manage that fever and I’ll show you, I’ll talk about that and how to do that because Fever is your friend. Okay. Now, yeah. Fever can get scary for parents and this is why I have to handhold them a lot through this process because it looks scary.
Amandha: You don’t like to see your child sick. It’s normal. That’s, we all go through it. I went through it. I know that it looks scary.. They’re, you don’t want your child to suffer. I get it, but it’s the level in which you are loving them at that. You’re meeting them at the suffering and at the support.
Amandha: You don’t want them to be in a state of agony. And that’s when you give, you, give natural remedies, help them through the pain and the discomfort, and let ’em sleep and let ’em rest. You’re not going to just let them be. You’re not just going to neglect them as they go through it. I’m never talking about that when I say to avoid drugs which are poison.
Amandha: I’m doing that from a state of let’s prevent further complications and problems in further suffering. But you don’t not treat, you treat, and it’s just there’s different ways to go about it.
Amandha: And there’s a plethora of remedies that you can use, and I’ve done it and successfully supported the body in multiple different ways using a multiple array of natural supplements and botanicals and homeopathics and so forth.
Amandha: And it all supports the body and gets job done.
Amandha: So, there’s no one right way to do it, but we’re going to talk about the basic principles and the ones that are the most commonly used in UTIs to help them resolve it naturally.
Amandha: Okay. So, okay, so we’re, now you want to avoid antibiotics. Now in this one case I had that I just going through recently she was prescribed an antibiotic and they just assumed that they had given it to the child when we had been avoiding it.
Amandha: And then this was about day five, I believe, in day five, this child was expected to have been taking this antibiotic and the doctors call and say, oh my God, stop. Immediately we gave you an antibiotic that’s totally resistant to E. coli. Oops. So please stop that one and go to the pharmacy and by this other one.
Amandha: And by the way, it’s $400. And oops. Sorry about that. Wow. So the neglect and the carelessness and the ignorance is quite astounding and the expense as well is quite astounding. For this is the only treatment we have available to support a system in as a rite of passage for a first UTI in a little girl or little boy, whoa, if you let them go through it and it can take some time.
Amandha: This one, this is why I want to do this video cause I want to help you understand that UTI and a child can go on for a little while and you want it to be over. We all want it to be over. I get it. That’s why I call it a write of passage, cause once it’s, once it is resolved and it’s done self-limiting, the benefits that come from that are profound.
Amandha: And so we do want to try very hard to learn how to do this properly. Even, you know, you can hire a holistic practitioner like myself to walk you through it and help you. To not fall into the fear and the propaganda of the doctors and the naysayers, like the very negative family members and ignorant and that are just, they don’t know what they’re talking about.
Amandha: They’re just parrots. You know, there’s a lot of people that just fall into the fear of propaganda and they just say, don’t do the antibiotics and shut up and dah da. Right? I mean, you get these attitudes, you get these people. But you got smart moms who stand their ground and say, no, I know that I had this as a child and I suffered my whole life with these things, and I’m not going to let that happen to my child.
Vitamin C, Zinc, Probiotics, and Homeopathic Considerations
Amandha: Okay. So one. So the top things that are important is obviously giving them rest, monitoring the fever and to ensure that they’re getting enough proper water and hydration. Vitamin C is a big one. So vitamin C is like your natural antibiotic. Okay? You must employ the wonderful and fantastic vitamin C, okay?
Amandha: In higher doses and how I like to use it now, use what you’ve got. If you’re really struggling financially or whatever, use the cheap stuff, okay? Use the ascorbic acid, that’s okay, but I like to use the sodium ascorbate, which is the reduced and buffered form of vitamin C because buffering the blood and reducing the acidosis in the body is helpful in UTI’s.
Amandha: And so you’re kind of getting two birds with one stone when you use the sodium ascorbate variety. And usually it’s in powder form, so you can mix it with a little bit of juice. You can get compliance in children, which is the big, which is the big, you know, hard part about this is actually getting them to do it and convincing them that they need these things.
Amandha: And what I suggest is 1000 milligrams of vitamin C pretty much every few hours. Just keep it coming in, keep it titrating in. They will continue to urinate. They will continue to have a fever. Their fever can linger anywhere between one, you know, My, my daughter had it around 98 to 102, back and forth, and then she had quite a few days of at 104.9, 104.9.
Amandha: It’s up
Amandha: okay sorry, that was a bad joke. That’s a Toronto station, radio station oh man. Okay, so, so one, so 105 degrees. Okay. Now if you watch my other video, which is on the other channel, I don’t know how to switch it over, but it was my first ever YouTube video date.
Amandha: It’s like, it’s about not to fear the fever.
Amandha: I talk about how the fever doesn’t, isn’t an issue. 107.5. You want to intervene. At 105, which it really shouldn’t go much above that. That’s like your high point in these things. You’re going to monitor, you can do skin on skin, so the child holding the child to your skin to help them regulate, to give them some of your heat to just help them through it is also something to do through sleep as well.
Amandha: But 105 is kind of the norm for these things. You’re going to get at least one good hot day or many more hot days like this. And what happens is fever is diurnal. Yeah, I think, yeah. Celsius Fahrenheit. So in Celsius is, I don’t know, you can do the math like 30. always do it in Fahrenheit.
Amandha: Oh, I have a troll. Oh, dear. Anyway, so. So at that level. So what you’re going to do is give also a zinc supplement, usually like a chewable zinc. Do some juicing, like usually a carrot juice. Keep them to keep them hydrated and keep them nourished. They won’t really want to eat very much and that’s normal.
Amandha: But you do want to keep them nourished because you want to keep the glucose levels balanced. Obviously you’re going to avoid sugar except for what’s the sugar that’s helpful in E. coli is D-mannose. So D-mannose is a sugar that causes the walls of the bladder to be slippery. And this just helps the body deal with things a little bit faster because the E. coli can’t adhere to the walls they slide off a little bit easier.
Amandha: So that so doing that with the vitamin C, the high dose, vitamin C, zinc, all of these things support the immune system. A probiotic, usually I will do two doses of probiotic twice a day in the powder form. There’s different probiotics out there.
Amandha: I don’t want to get really into the complexities of that. But just your, you know, I use Genestra. I think they’re a high-quality one. And that helps the gut flora, the immune system that’s in the Peyer’s patches and the gut work better and help the immune system, you know, get on target. Really, you’re just supporting an already existing system that’s already doing the job.
Amandha: We are born with everything that we need. We don’t need to remove things, we don’t need to add things. The body works brilliantly. All you’re doing here is supporting it through and helping the child be comfortable through the experience as opposed to, you know, poisoning them with antibiotics so that they get more and more of these UTIs so they’re further down health’s detriment path and end up wind up in the hospital on iv, you know, which is what ends up happening a lot of the times with these children.
Amandha: Never really allowing the immune system to understand this organism and to gain the memory that it needs to prevent these things from happening again in my own child it was a two weeks, it was a two week battle with this one I want to just talk about homeopathics for a second because any homeopathic while we want to always reduce this fever, we really have a fever brainwash that we want to get it down.
Amandha: Like we watch all these TV and movies that brainwash us into thinking that we have to, like, throw them in a bucket of ice water or something ridiculous and better get that fever down, get right that, you know, like these are the, this is the propaganda that’s on the television that makes us think that’s the truth and that’s just not the truth.
Amandha: Yes, if they get too high, you can make them comfortable with a little bit of a fan or so forth, but You know, reducing that fever is just going to prolong the symptoms. That’s what I found. So I was using certain homeopathics that I read in my child asking about her symptoms. So, tell me more about the sensation.
Amandha: When you’re going to the washroom. Do you have to push the urine out? Do you know, I would ask her these questions. Where is she feeling her discomfort. And then I would, I was giving a remedy and then I wasn’t sure that remedy was doing anything. So I was looking at different remedies and what I ended up doing is suppressing, cause you can actually suppress.
Amandha: Symptoms through homeopathy, and I was suppressing her fever for quite a long time. I wasn’t allowing things to, to happen as they were going to happen, and ended up that I prolonged it for her. So I would just be very aware of that. In the case I just had recently we used Belladonna, homeopathic belladonna.
Amandha: Her fever was 105 for quite a few days. A little bit of little bit of letting up in the early part of the day, which is normal. Like I was saying, fever’s diurnal. So it’ll usually spike in the afternoon around four o’clock and five o’clock. That’s normal. They’ll always spike that fever at that, around, around that time.
Amandha: And but the, what the belladonna did in this case, it gave her a day of relief. So it kind of gave her a break from what was happening and then she but then the next day she was back up to 105 again. So I think it can be used wisely, but you really want to know what you’re doing with that. And if you’re a lay person, just be aware.
Amandha: You can have these things on hand and but don’t overuse them in this case. And there was an article, I’ll see if I can find it. Cause I was doing research on this and I did find an article that talked about it, that talked about homeopathy and UTIs, especially the first UTI in children that it’s not actually advised unless you’re very clear about the symptom picture.
Amandha: Because you can muddy the case or me the case up. And I experienced that in my situation, my first situation by using too many different remedies in that case. So that’s why it went on two weeks. I would say two weeks is not normal for most UTIs.
Amandha: I would say your max is going to be probably around eight days in this case happening.
Amandha: Now we’re at day six, I believe and she’s starting to recover. And she’s had many days of 105 temperature. So, we’ve been doing the D-mannose, the vitamin C. And the other one I want to mention that’s excellent, that I really encourage is a colloidal silver. Again, it’s considered like a natural antibiotic, but it’s very differently employed by the body.
Amandha: It’s not like the, like an antibiotic is like a a bullet in a gun and the gun is being held at your head and it, you know, it’s saying do this or else, right? It doesn’t give the body much of a Natural remedies. For the most part, they’re an offering. They’re like, here, would you like this?
Amandha: Are you interested in this? You may want to try this. Right? It’s not always a bully. It’s more like your buddy. So I noticed that, you know, a lot of the remedies that just uses what offered it and it’s not going to push the body or change what it’s already doing in any negative way or any suppressive way.
Botanicals, Colloidal Silver, Magnesium, and Essential Oils
Amandha: So, so that’s what I’ve noticed with that. And okay. So now we’re going to talk about a few other remedies that you can use. There’s I mean, elderberry is one that’s loved for the immune system in. Elderberry is, you can get it in syrup form. It’s something that if you pick it off the tree, you must cook.
Amandha: So if you do like say, Hey, I found an elderberry bush in my neighborhood. It’s actually poisonous raw. So you, that needs to be cooked. The berries need to be properly cooked down. So that’s a generalized immune system tonic or remedy. What I usually suggest at the easiest for parents to do is go buy some organic corn.
Amandha: And if you have a local botanical dispensary, you can get corn silk. It’s already dried and prepared. So you’re going to get the corn silk from that in parsley leaf. So Parsley’s pretty easy to find. You can usually find it even organic or a lot of people are just growing it themselves, and you can take handfuls of that and you can make it into a decoction, which is basically an infusion.
Amandha: They’re different, but I’m not going to get into that here. But on the stove, you can cook that down on simmer with a lid for about 20 to 30 minutes, and then strain that off and give that as a liquid. You’re giving liquid, but also you’re giving what you’re giving your kidney tonifiers. So if that UTI is spread into the kidneys, they’re complaining lower back pain and so forth, then you’re going to support the kidneys with this botanical mixture, which is very powerful and was very effective with, in my case.
Amandha: Another case that I had different from the one happening now. Also, it really assisted in a lot of relief. The back pain relieved itself very quickly., so that was nice. Magnesium is also key. Topical magnesium that I didn’t mention, I would do that because it helps with also pain and discomfort.
Amandha: It’s a an enzyme in about 900 plus enzymatic reactions in the body.
Amandha: The body’s going to be using a lot of this.
Amandha: So, topical magnesium, the one I like that’s on my website, it’s called EASE Magnesium which I recommend. And then as well, I made a a kidney and bladder blend when my daughter had hers.
Amandha: This is an essential oil blend and what’s in it is cedarwood, clove, sage, tea tree, and you can add in oregano as well. I just didn’t have it at the time when I designed this particular formula. It’s in a carrier oil as well. And then you can put castor oil over their abdomen, the front of their like their lower abdomen and then the lower back.
Amandha: And you can put a few drops of this into the castor oil and it will help penetrate. Deeply and you can add and apply heat as well, like a wrapped hot water bottle. And that will give a lot of relief. It really helped my daughter when I used this on her just rest and not be in discomfort.
Amandha: We don’t want them to be in any extra discomfort.
Amandha: So, so that blend really worked well for her. And this other woman that bought it for her adult UTIs she said she did get relief from it as well. So essential oils also can be very useful. Back to botanicals for a second. There’s uva ursi, which is another one that is used.
Amandha: I’ve used it.
Amandha: Hard to say you know, we’re giving nourishment really is how I think of it cause there’s a lot of vitamins and minerals and nutrients in these botanicals. So if they’re not eating a lot, I really like the botanicals that I’ll give nettles.
Amandha: I’ll give oats straw, I’ll give red raspberry leaf.
Amandha: I’ll give these because yes, they have botanical action on those organ systems, but they’re nourishing, they’re giving vitamins and minerals, and they’re keeping the organisms strong and vital to fight this off.
Amandha: Right?
Amandha: So that’s something that I encourage everyone who’s going through that with their child to, to learn about some of the key botanicals, have, you know, have some around the house learn how, what’s in them, what they do.
Amandha: And it’s very empowering to have that at your fingertips for lots of different ailments, you know, chest infections, colds, and flus. You can, you know, whip up a tea and help that organ system and help them through that, right? Very easy to do in a lot of folk medicine, in a folk medicine kind of way, is how I’m approaching that for the general public.
Amandha: Okay, so we talked about colloidal silver colloidal silver, typical dose for an adult. Is one ounce twice a day if you’re experiencing something. I know some people who are using super high doses to get rid of parasites. There’s other protocols but I’m talking general use. And then one ounce a day, if you’re doing prevention and children, everything’s usually half.
Amandha: It’s usually a half dose of that. But in an active UTI, I’ve been using higher doses one to two ounces a day in a child over the age of four throughout the day though, so sips throughout the day. And that’s also very helpful. So I wanted to get that dosing in there.
Amandha: So I don’t think I mentioned it when I mentioned colloidal silver.
Amandha: Okay, so, hi everybody. Yes. Corn silk. Corn silk. So you know, the husk of the corn. You open the corn that the silks inside, that’s corn silk. It’s a tonifier for the kidneys. It’s helpful. It’s helpful to the kidneys. Same with parsley leaf, just your parsley leaf. Actually the root is helpful to you, but leaf is more readily available and easier to find and easy to grow.
Amandha: Easy to grow. You grow, oregano yourself and save yourself. It’s, you know, you could have a little indoor a windowsill type of garden, even if you want, if you’re in the winter months and just pick it right there, right? So, so, making sure the child is is nourished through the process. I would say the key ones are the D-mannose, the vitamin C and the colloidal silver.
Amandha: And then at least one or two little botanicals. There’s another product. Now I have it up here. I wanted to talk about, now it’s more so in the States. Hoping that we can get this into Canada. See if I can find it. Ah, it’s called Biocidin. It’s Biocidin LSF.
Amandha: It’s a potent broad spectrum liposomal formula.
Amandha: It’s from a company. Well, if you go to biocidin.com it’s there. And that’s that’s very helpful for the intestinal ecology in general. It deals with Lyme. It’s helpful for Lyme. It gets rid of those biofilms that can happen in the body. It kills. So it’s kind of a broad spectrum, but it can definitely.
Amandha: With UTIs as well. There’s bilberry in it, milk thistle, and echinacea. Golden seal’s, another great one. Another really great and helpful botanical for UTIs, and that’s in this product as well. Shiitake, white willow bark. Garlic. Garlic is an excellent remedy for UTIs. It’s a natural antibiotic as well.
Amandha: Considered grape seed extract is in this black walnut hall. Raspberry gentian lavender oregano oil. It’s an excellent formulation. It’s a bit pricey. It’s a 50 mil for 78 95, and that’s in US dollars. I’m not sure I haven’t brought it in yet. I’m looking at this company. There’s just a lot of fiddling with Health Canada going on with some of this stuff, but if you’re in the States, you can get that and they have quite a few lipo.
Amandha: Products. Now liposomal products are very beneficial because of the delivery system in a liposome. So it even liposomal vitamin C you can find, and you could do that in a UTI scenario, and it helps the delivery of the vitamin C to the source. Like if you have issues of absorption that’s one barrier to getting things happening, you know, getting things in through the body.
Amandha: You also can have issues of delivery system issues. And so the liposomal is like, Helps, but with both of those situations. So this is for people who have had really chronic inflammation ongoing. Like you see in a lot of the fibromyalgia patients that might have chronic Lyme or, you know, mold concerns and they’ve been.
Amandha: Under chronic stress and inflammation for a long time. Yeah. So liposomal delivery systems are a really helpful way of getting around that problem., you see the light come in there? The light, it’s like suddenly sunny like squinting at the sun.
DMSO, Hygiene, Toilet Training, and the Parent Experience
Amandha: Okay, so yes, and thank you for mentioning DMSO.
Amandha: That was where I was going next DMSO is fantastic remedy, dimethyl sulfoxide. I have a YouTube video that discusses dimethyl sulfoxide and how to utilize it, what it, all the studies talk about it does for the body. And it kills pain, right? So it kills pain, kills inflammation. Now we have acute inflammation in the case of UTI, so we won’t want to go too heavy on it cause that inflammation is actually helpful right.
Amandha: So short-term inflammation in the body is helpful. It actually opens up things to allow in the white blood cells to do the work into that area, you know, localized area. So don’t want to shut everything down. But we do want to you know, assist with pain, assist with rebuilding.
Amandha: You know, it adds more oxygen into the system.
Amandha: It has it has a bacteriostatic quality to it. DMSO, it stops the it or inhibits the growth of bacteria. That’s in quite a few of the studies have shown that it also inhibits the growth of fungus and viruses so, viruses. So it’s a very fascinating product.
Amandha: Definitely something having an arsenal for a whole whack of things. I almost don’t know one thing, it wouldn’t help with, so for sure that’s across the board. Something to have in your medicine chest, in your medicine cabinet for UTIs as well. And if it does go to the kidneys, you would apply it local.
Amandha: You’d apply it topically over the kidneys and over the front over the bladder area. Teaching the child about how to wipe properly to prevent further ones is also key cause this usually happens around the time they’re potty training or toilet training. They’re learning about how to clean themselves, take care of themselves.
Amandha: So parents want to, you know, educate the child on their body and just you know, my daughter got it right away. She’s like, yeah don’t wipe back to front. Like, I get it, you know? She is like, okay, I got it. Poop. Poop doesn’t go there,. And she’s passed the stage of playing with her poop
Amandha: That was fun. You know, so.. So she’s starting to understand these things a little bit more. And in in Boys it’s the same story. You know, how to keep things clean in uncircumcised boys you know, just to sh you know, you know, we’re going to retract until it’s at that time, but you’re going to show them how to stay clean and how to clean the cells properly in the bath or shower and help them.
Amandha: You can have them have wipes and their own wipes or something that’s more empowering for them. But, you know, it’s a, there’s a cleanliness factor there that you want to also teach through this rite of passage as I’m calling it. So now going through this and having gone through this experience with you know, a handful of children, Really see that it is like, almost like a childhood exanthem.
Amandha: It’s like that first infection of that system and it needs to learn and it needs to experience it. And we need to hesitate to remove stressors from our children’s lives just because we don’t like it. Just because it’s uncomfortable for us to witness. We want to support and encourage and be wise.
Amandha: But to immediately, you know, just stop and experience, stop them from experiencing something in their lives. Is that really serving them? It’s a question. Ask yourself, you know? Because when I was going through it, I was like, my daughter has not been touched by any poison ever. And I don’t want to start now, you know, cause I struggled too the first time because this is two weeks.
Amandha: And I’m, you know, I’m a single parent, two weeks of a child with a UTI, holy moly. And it’s gone, you know, a kidney infection. And I’m really doing a lot of work and a lot of research on this and really trying to help her through it. And you know, it was, it, even for me, I was like, at my, I was, I remember the last day and she had 105 fever, and I was holding her in the bed and I was just praying, and I was like, you know, this, I know this is true.
Amandha: I know that the body knows what it’s doing, and I understand what’s happening. And still, I have my own limits and my own fear coming through, you know, and I had to really be mindful of how I was feeling as a parent and how I just wanted it to all go away, you know? And it was really more about me than her in the, when I really look back at it, it was just, I was exhausted.
Amandha: I just, you know what I mean? I’m just saying that the point is,, we’re trying to think about this child in their long-term health, and we invest in the child when they’re little in a very focused way so that when they’re older, they can be free to be who they are and we don’t need to handle them anymore.
Amandha: We don’t have to worry about them, you know, catching everything or being sick all the time or worse. So I just think the investment is now. I don’t see this discussion too much point. Maybe I just haven’t found the people having this discussion, but I haven’t seen the discussion of the ut first UTI as a childhood rite of passage or a childhood exam.
Amandha: And that there’s a normal thing for children to go through and to assist them through it rather than like, you know, they get an ear infection, throat infection, bladder infection. They just throw the antibiotics at it. End of story. It’s just like, we don’t even have the discussion anymore. It’s just done.
Amandha: But guess what? I have a list sent from my client of all the resistant antibiotics that exist now. And that list is growing. It is growing. There are many staff and E. coli resistant antibiotics. Now, they don’t work, guys. They don’t stop the infection. So what are you going to do when you can’t stop the infection with an antibiotic?
Amandha: Die. Seriously. Think about it. This is a growing problem. That’s not going to stop. They’re not finding new anything. So we have to really consider, let’s allow nature, let’s work with nature and let’s support the body through what it naturally wants to do so that we don’t abuse, you know, the antibiotics that exist.
Amandha: And we learn about how to treat these things holistically in a holistically minded way that’s working with all the things that God has put on this earth for us. You know, that grows right outside the door. I mean there’s remedies everywhere. Plantain is another one I used for my daughter grows all over the place.
Amandha: It’s free and just pick it and wash it and, you know what I’m saying? So we have to have this discussion because guess what, we’re going to get into a state maybe 10 years, I don’t know, maybe 20 and there’s not even you know what I’m saying? Is 10 years, 20 years, we’re not going to have these antibiotics available anymore.
Amandha: What are you going to do? So this is what you do. This is what I’m saying. Okay. We have to think about this. We have to prepare for this. We have to be wise. And then oh, what was, I lost my train of thought there. I’m going to talk with something else. Anyway, I really feel I’m making my point. I feel I feel it was important to talk, it’s important to talk about UTIs in children and how tough it can be for parents to witness their child going through a fever.
Amandha: And I sympathize. I get it. It’s hard to watch. It’s hard to see their little hearts beating so fast and breathing like that, and all, you know, flushed and it’s hard. I’m with you. But at the same time, love them through it. Love them. Beyond that you have to have the perspective, right?
Amandha: Give them the remedies. Support them through it. Have someone who’s on your side with you to support you. So when you’re the link, the doubts come in because the doctors are on you, or the spouse or the mother-in-law, whatever is on your case that you were like, no, I know this is right. And back to that story of mine, when I was going through it and I was praying that I was doing e energy work, I was doing everything with my own daughter.
Amandha: And I was like I know I’m doing the right thing. So what’s it, what are these doubts about? And I felt like it was, as an empath was me to understand it from the parents from a deep perspective. So when I talk to other parents going through it, I really do have compassion. I really understand what they’re going through and you know, and I tell them, I know, I understand.
Amandha: If you want to get that antibiotic and you have it sitting at your table, that’s what, if that’s what’s going to help you through it, whatever, you have that still in the back burner, okay? But right now, here’s where it’s at and you can do this and. You know, and it’s worthwhile when they finally do get through it and they’re like, ah, you did it
Amandha: She’s so strong now. She hasn’t had anything. She’s doing great. Da. Then it’s worth it, you know, once you can get past that. But I had to struggle because I’m, my path is kind of like that anyway, suffering so that I can learn and then share the learning yay me. But after that case, like, so that night you know, the hunt, the really heavy fever and it was really ongoing and I was questioning it.
Amandha: She broke the fever that day and it was done. So that was the end of two weeks. That was 14 days. Whoa,. I don’t think that’s the norm. I think that’s a healer’s experience. That’s what I think. I think most of them will be between five and five and 10 days would be your outset experience.
Adult UTIs, Diet, Kidney Stones, and Audience Questions
Amandha: And you know what, in some children it’s like nothing. It’s like boo, quick. It’s quick. So sorry. I know this sounds, that’s very great.. I’ve got wear shades. So, okay, so I’m going to just look at questions quickly, quick and oh yeah. And I want to talk about in adults now in adults, same goes if you get a UTI, and I’m going to say most people getting in adulthood, we’re not allowed to go through this.
Amandha: And I would love to do science, I would love to take a survey on people and find out how many of you were allowed to go through UTIs in a normal fashion, supported and so forth. You weren’t interfered with antibiotics and stuff. And how’s your urinary tract health now, you know, I’d just, I’d be interested to see, or even your, the use of antibiotics in other areas of your life, like strep throat or something else that happens, you know, and how has that affected your tract health and do you have candida infections as well?
Amandha: Cause oftentimes those two go hand in hand. Cause that’s what happens when you wipe out the flora, your own endemic candida takes off it starts to, it starts the new lineage, a parasitic lineage of your endemic Candida. Candida lineages, cause it’s in us, as part of us begins to blossom, right?
Amandha: So you get a lot of problems now going later on in life, right?
Amandha: With the candida infections. Also in vaccines can do that. So vaccines will come in and damage. The microflora will add heavy metals into the system. And what I’ve found again and again, and this is common knowledge now at least that heavy metals, you’re going to see candida come around those heavy metals as if to try to protect the body from the heavy metals.
Amandha: So for people who have candid infections, they can’t get rid of. You must do heavy metal, clean. Or else you’re just going to keep having the candida come in because candida’s acting like your buddy to help prevent you having other issues with the heavy metals like coming around and round. So you have to do heavy metal cleanses when you have candida like that.
Amandha: For sure. I’ve seen you across the board and that’s how you clear it up. Sorry, I hope this isn’t affecting them., can you still see me? That’s really bright, eh? Okay, so in adults though, it’s the same thing goes. You want to flush, you want to avoid antibiotics, you want to do your colloidal silver, your D-mannose uva ursi all of these different remedies that are going to help you to kill the organism.
Amandha: It can be different organisms. E. coli is the com most common. But there’s other organisms that can be affecting you. So, you want to be aware of what’s, you know, what’s going on there. What’s going on, what is going on here? I’ll come closer. Ah, hi. Okay. That’s better. I can’t see myself.. Now you can see my eyes.
Amandha: Yes. Okay, so I’m going to go back quickly for comments and questions and stuff. Okay. So, hi. Hello. Hello. Hi. Kindly mention the antibiotics and their resistance in UTI too lung, along with its veic management. Yeah. The veic principles obviously, you know, you’re looking at different doshas in people and the different botanicals related to that dosha.
Amandha: You know, antibiotics are going to damage the communication network. With the immune system, so you really can get resistant strains going on in the UTI system. I haven’t really looked at the Ayurvedic side. I’m kind of out of touch with a lot of my Ayurvedic medicine with UTIs. But I will look into that now that you’ve mentioned it, because I really want to know all the different angles because there’s so many ways to heal it.
Amandha: Right. So you just had a UTI last summer. Yeah. They can get pretty bad and they can you know, be very painful and linger. So you really want to be on that and shifting your diet, you know, you can’t eat sugars, drink pop, drink coffee these kinds of things and heal you. You really need to do the juicing, the smoothies, like get your super foods going.
Amandha: You know, stay away from a lot of the carbs, you know, some complex carbs obviously are good. You know, your vegetable. You’re going to eat vegetables, you’re going to eat fruits. You want to stay away from things that are too acid forming. Too many heavy meats are too acid forming. It’s harder on the liver.
Amandha: So, you know, you want to shift your diet through that situation. Sometimes it can be more going on, like kidney stones are happening or there’s other flareups or other things happening. So it’s good to get a, get your urine checked to see what’s, what organisms involved, you know, and what else might be going on in your body.
Amandha: And flush that out. And that’s probably a different talk on. Clearing stones, which Chanca piedra is breakstone? You can use that. If you have kidney stones, it works really well. a few other remedies, but that’s a common commonly used one for any type of stone.
Amandha: And a high dose magnesium is also key in a, not in all stone types, but many. So I would be in ensuring the magnesium levels are high as well. I also make a pain cream that’s very helpful, you know, in pain. So that’s on my website too. It’s called Pain Away Dream Cream. Cause it helps with sleep too. So that one’s helpful, especially if you’re going through, obviously you like lower back pain or bladder.
Amandha: Bladder pain fever fights infection yes it does. Fever fights, infection. We love our yeah. The danger with fevers, and if you watch my other video, but the danger with fevers is when things go up or down too fast so you can get a seizure. If you don’t have an already underlying seizure disorder, then having a seizure is not really a bad, like you don’t have a negative sequelae from having seizure like that.
Amandha: But if you already have an underlying seizure disorder, then you want to monitor and make sure you don’t have a seizure in that case. Like I was saying, in the vaccinated population, their hypothalamus is damaged. They have like Swiss cheese for hypothalamus. The hypothalamus is the regulator of fever and it’s controlling the pyro and their circulation and their upregulation or downregulation.
Amandha: So if you have a Swiss cheese hypothalamus from vaccination, you’re not going to be able to monitor that fever too well. So I always ask like, are they vaccinated or not? And if they’re not, I don’t have anything to worry about. The things will self limit the hypothalamus is more than likely working just fine.
Amandha: They’re going to have their high spike of fever, and then they’re going to be done. They’re not going to get runaway fevers, but if they’re vaccinated I’m monitoring more close, more close to the fever, check-in, fever more often, seeing if we’re having a pattern, finding the pattern in the fever and ensuring you’re not going to get a runaway a fever scenario.
Amandha: And then you do want to intervene and get that down and use the fever a little more different. Okay. So would you recommend Chance? Yeah, we talked about that. What else? Precautions for UTI patients precautions.
Red Flags, Manuka Honey, and When to Seek More Help
Amandha: Well, obviously there’s going to be red flags that you want to look for.
Amandha: So fever is not a red flag. What? A red flag is like a stiff neck. Where, or you, the patient is languid, meaning they don’t come back around like in the day, in the morning. They’re not up and able to move around stuff. Like, they’re totally bedridden. They can’t walk, they can’t get a, they can’t move.
Amandha: They’re look at their skin is looking sallow. Like that’s not right. You know, that could get into sepsis and so forth. Like you kind of want to look at their level of vitality. Is there vitality coming around in a cycle you really want to watch for that? So those, that’s kind of a red flag. You know. Things that just things that are scary are as like really crazy pain, high pitched, screaming, you know, things where you know, like something is wrong.
Amandha: here, right? Those are things that are scary. Those are things that need immediate attention to maybe taking you to the hospital or, you know, having something happen on a, another test done or something else is going on. Meningitis, it would be the stiff neck situation. But you don’t normally see that in these UTIs.
Amandha: They’re malaise. They want to sleep more. They’ll have a diurnal fever pattern where it gets higher in the evening. They are still drinking. They might want to eat, might not want to eat too much. Other one I didn’t mention, I just remembered is manuka honey. manuka honey. There’s a study, I’ll post this study.
Amandha: There’s a study done comparing manuka honey to antibiotics basically. And it said the Manuka honey is working, worked better than antibiotics at removing bacterial offenders. So like, we even have, we have this information, it’s not like airy fairy stuff, you know, this is, there’s studies, there’s information out there.
Amandha: We just need to locate the information and embed it in our consciousness, and then utilize it and practice its use. So Manuka Honey, which I believe comes from, is it New Zealand or Australia? I always forget. But it’s a very specific type of honey that is very antibacterial. Any honey is slightly antibacterial.
Amandha: So if you don’t have Manuka, you can still use a raw honey. Now it is a sugar, so I just say not a lot, like, don’t use too much of it. Now, D-mannose is a sugar, but it’s a different action on the body. So it’s accepted. Even though in UTIs we say avoid sugar. Okay. So,
Amandha: Juniper essential oil is good for dissolving blood clots caused by some of the heavy metals. I had blood clots when I was doing a lot of ru running. Yeah. You know, sticky. So in an adult, like there’s other issues like you want to take, have someone take your case properly and really look at what’s going on as a total system.
Amandha: Usually, you know, kitties and liver, they work together. So I treat both of those organ systems because they’re harmonious with one another. Look at the adrenal glands as well when you’re looking at the kidneys that sits on the renals, which is kidneys that sits on them, the health of that those glands.
Amandha: And really the endocrine system has that as a whole playing into everything. So when it’s in an adult you want to look a little bit more. At the case because now we have time, age, and circumstances coming into play. So it could be more complicated situation. So yeah, your blood could be the issue and that’s what’s causing problems in your filtering system.
Amandha: You’re getting inflammation in the kidneys and that could be the reason why you’re more susceptible to UTIs. That’s different than in a little child who’s this is their first experience. They wiped back the front and that just didn’t go too well for them, you know, and they exposed themselves. And it’s usually just really simplified like that in adult.
Amandha: It can be more complicated and a little more involved. Right. So, so that’s what you’re saying there, that you were having a blood clot issue in that comment. Okay. Yeah. So I think, oh, New Zealand. Thank you. So it is New Zealand. All right. Awesome. Thanks for clearing that one up for me.. Sorry, I missed that last sugar.
Recurrence, Prevention, Parent Stress, and Closing Remarks
Amandha: Oh, I was talking about D-mannose. So, D-mannose being the sugar kit that’s useful in bladder infections because it makes the walls slippery so that the offending agent is having a harder time sticking and staying around to reproduce itself. So, so anyway just to quickly summarize, you know, I’m really just having these experiences with children who are going through their first UTIs and we have to trust the body and help the body go through this rite of passage so that they have the immunity in this system, with this system.
Amandha: And they’ll have that for life. My daughter after that, she had one little UTI that lasted one day after that. And I know that for her it was an issue where she, I was teaching her to clean and she was being lazy on the cleaning, so I had to sort of reteach her about that. And it was minor. It was nothing, it didn’t go to anything full-blown.
Amandha: It was a one day little burned a bit and had a little bit of a abdominal discomfort for a day, maybe two days. Applied the same techniques. The same supplements, and she cleared that up very quickly and hasn’t again since. So, you know, it also depends on the child and their regime. But that was my experience.
Amandha: And then the experience in the last while was also, there was another woman who was in their baby, had a UTI, and it was very quick. It was moved through very fast. So it was a very short duration. It was only like a couple of days. And I haven’t really heard anything from her if there was any other problem.
Amandha: So, so I really want us to understand that we need to learn how to treat these things without antibiotics. There’s studies out there already in the literature that are suggesting that these actually aren’t the best way to go about helping the body through this. Even like ear infections, throat infections, bladder infections.
Amandha: We shouldn’t be going to antibiotics. It’s like a bad habit now. It’s being deterred from it’s being now understood that it’s not helpful. It’s not helping them prevent others. It’s not serving them, you know? So we have to just get out of our own training, this training of going to the antibiotics as a save all kind of ideology that this is the best thing since slice bread.
Amandha: It’s not. And if we really want to nourish the body and help the body, Through these things. This is the best defense. Learning about these things is the best defense, the food, the lifestyle, the water, the supplements, the juices, the things that you’re doing, the stress. Like these are the management tools for not only just you know, healing and curing and so forth, but for prevention, right?
Amandha: So we really want to get to a place of empowerment and prevention and learn about what to use, what we need at home to take care of these things without weighing an, you know, on the healthcare system and showing up at the emerge every two minutes. Or being also victims of best system and victims of fear mongering, which a lot of it is, a lot of it is just unnecessary fear and how to manage our fear and manage our stress and anxiety.
Amandha: One of the moms I was, she’s like, she shows me a supplement. She’s like, it’s, and it’s a stress supplement. She’s like, So I should be taking this. I’m like, yeah, you need to take that through your daughter’s UTI so that you can relax. Because it was really let was the child management, but it’s also the parent management so that they were able to cope right through it.
Amandha: Because you know, they’re just, this is their first experience in this and their child and they’re like freaking out. So, so all of these tools are going to help us have vibrant health. We want vibrant health, we want longevity. We want to think about the future of our child’s life, right? We want to prevent things from happening to them later.
Amandha: We don’t just want to throw the antibiotic on it and make it magically go away. It doesn’t, it’ll just come back and to haunt you. And just like the one story I just read today, and I’m going to post this actually to her cause I’m on a bunch of forms and stuff. She says My youngest daughter, she’s four, she had a UTI and they’re talking about cleaning and stuff.
Amandha: And then she says, antibiotics help for a short time. But I can tell the UTI is happening again because her urines starting to have a strong odor again so like, it’s already there in this case, and I see this again and again. So when you see something like that happening, you know that it’s not working.
Amandha: It’s not working, it’s not the save all thing that we thought, okay, we have to get that out of our heads and we have to take it to the next level. And you know, there’s different brands and all that, and I didn’t really get into the different brands and types and so forth. I hope, and I expect and encourage you to do your own research.
Amandha: I do have a lot of the products on my website if you want to. I, you know, I just pick the best ones and those ones I sell for the most part. I have EASE Magnesium, I have the Right C by BioMed is my favorite for the sodium ascorbate I make my own colloidal silver. You can buy a colloidal silver generator and make it yourself.
Amandha: It’s not very hard. You know, probiotics, I have my few that I like. I like the biotics oh, sorry, the BioMed 7-in-1 as a general. And I like the Genestra as I mentioned earlier as well, which is the more intense one. So, you know there’s lots botanicals. I just kind of grow or wildcraft myself.
Amandha: I have a whole dispensary here in my space, in my clinic and in my store. So I just go to my own arsenal of botanicals. You can have your own dispensary at home. You can learn about botanicals. I’m hoping to teach more and more about that. And also, you know, homeopathy, which ones work for what? The ones that, by the way that are typically used is Cantharis is a big homeopathic use for UTIs, often for that stingy burn.
Amandha: But again, we don’t want to suppress the fever because that’ll prolong the case. And I noticed that homeopathics will reduce the fever and so, you know, kind of, just prolongs things. So the Belladonna reduced the fever and then it came back again, right? So, so just be wise around that. But I still want to teach about all the different applications because there’s excellent applications for these things, for all kinds of concerns.
Amandha: So that’ll always be my message is reminding you and helping you understand how brilliant the body is. It knows what it’s doing. Listen to the body, listen to nature. Everything is emulated that way. Everything has its wisdom based in nature. If something is too far divided or divorced away from nature, stay away from it if it’s too.
Amandha: Far away it’s synthetic. If it’s close to its original format, as close as you can get, then you know it’s going to be balanced. It’s going to be a very, you know, work with the body and work instead of suppress. Right cause healing is expression, healing is getting things moving out. You know, stagnation is illness, right?
Amandha: Homeostasis is what we’re after. I’m really glad you joined me today. I really thank you for taking the time. I will this will be in, on as a YouTube video, so if you’re watching this on YouTube, please like and subscribe to my channel for more educational videos like this one. And I really appreciate the support because when you support me, then more people see it and then, you know, more people get the information.
Amandha: And that’s really why I’m doing all of this and trying to help as many people as I can get this information. That’s really my mo my goal.. I have some contacts opening up in other countries that are really bad off, and I’m looking to that for for more workshops or teaching opportunities just to really, people don’t know what to do, you know?
Amandha: That’s what I noticed. People are kind of lost with what to do. Like, what do I do? Okay, I can’t do the antibiotics, I can’t, I’m not going to do these things, but now what do I do? Right? So that’s really what I’m here for and here, you know, presenting to you. So, I appreciate the support and you know, leave a comment.
Amandha: I try to get back to all my comments if I can and you know, share it with your friends and so forth. And this is a good one to share with parents. Definitely, cause I think a lot of parents, they just go with what their doctor says and they don’t understand that the doctor is trained by pharmaceutical companies to promote their products and they don’t really know a lot about nutraceuticals or natural remedies or even diet.
Amandha: So they’re not going to be able to give you those answers or give you that information. For the most part. Some functional medicine doctors will know, but a lot of them they don’t know. So they don’t know about essential oils or, you know, they might know some probiotics. That’s, you know, there’s some limits there.
Amandha: But, okay.
Amandha: Well, have a wonderful day. I appreciate you very much. Love you all and have well, we’ll see you again, I guess. See you next time, bye for now.
